Joncas will receive the Sophia Award on February 12, 2012, 5:00PM at Washington Theological Union, and will also present a lecture entitled Heaven's Harmonies in Human Habitats: Composing for the Church. His talk will demonstrate how music may manifest Sophia --wisdom -- in compositions intended for the Church's worship, both by illuminating the texts being sung and by facilitating the rituals being enacted.
