Director for Recruitment and Admission Services

Job Summary

The Director for Recruitment and Admission Services is responsible for the development and implementation of a recruitment plan for Washington Theological Union. This position also includes: responsibility for the coordination of the admission of students to WTU, communication regarding the requirements for degrees granted by WTU, graduate certificates and continuing education programs, and management of application and admissions for all non-degree programs. She/he works in collaboration with the various departments of the school including, Academic Dean, Institutional Advancement and Registrar.

Job Qualifications

  1. Education - Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  2. Knowledge - Knowledge of Catholic Theology and all requirements for degree and certificate programs.
  3. Effective marketing and recruitment strategies.
  4. Skills:
    • Excellent communications skills - written and oral
    • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to prepare and stay within budget
    • Computer knowledge and ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and web-based technology

Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop a Student Recruitment Plan using a multi-faceted approach – web-based recruitment, printed material, presentations and personal contact.
    • Implement established plan.
    • Works in collaboration with Institutional Advancement, Communications and Informational Technology in the development of all materials for publication and distribution.
    • Works in collaboration with the Academic Dean, Department Chairs and Program Directors to insure that information on the various degrees and programs is current and up to date.
    • Documents ongoing inquirer communications through the use of software such as Gradpro.
    • Conducts tours of WTU for prospective students.
    • Coordinates Admission Process for new students working in collaboration with the Registrar, Academic Dean and Dean of Students.
    • Represents WTU at various events such as diocesan events and grad fairs.
    • Serves as a member of the Admissions, Enrollment and Financial Aid & Scholarship Committee.
    • Prepares an annual budget in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer.
    • Prepares quarterly statistical reports on recruitment efforts and admissions.
  3. Commitment to Teamwork

    • Maintains acceptable work schedule – time and attendance.
    • Takes responsibility for self-improvement.
    • Attends and actively participates in meetings as delegated/needed.

CEDC Description: CEDC is a faith-based organization that provides a wide range of educational and technical communications support to non-profit, community-based organizations actively working for social justice. This support includes: project consultation and design, video production and duplication, web-site design, graphic design, and photography. CEDC also serves as a conference and housing center to groups working for social change. As a non-profit, our purpose is to provide these services at low-cost to organizations that might not otherwise afford them. CEDC is located near the Catholic University/Brookland Metro (red line) stop in Northeast Washington, D.C.

Job Description: Specific duties for the Resident Manager couple include oversight of hospitality for groups on nights and weekends, set up and clean up of meeting rooms (includes moving some furnii ture), producing monthly calendars for other staff, welcoming guests upon arrival and providing them with information and service during their stay. Resident managers serve as "point persons" on security and readiness at the Center. They also coordinate recycling efforts, and help with maintenance from time to time.

Program Assistant, Catholic Mobilizing Network

The Catholic Mobilizing Network To End the Use of the Death Penalty (CMN) supports state bishops' conferences, diocesan offices, and Catholic institutions and organizations in their efforts to end the use of the death penalty in the United States, and in their restorative-justice initiatives. In collaboration with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and other organizations, CMN offers educational materials and training in grassroots organizing to engage the 67 million U.S. Catholics in promoting true justice.

CMN seeks a full-time Program Assistant to contribute to updating our website (http://www.catholicsmobilizing.org/), creating middle school and high school material for students and teachers, and building relationships across the country with Catholic Conferences. A qualified candidate would possess computer skills, creativity, and flexibility, and be comfortable and trustworthy in interactions with the Catholic hierarchy. This staff member would work with Director Karen Clifton and Education and Development Coordinator Dick Dowling. Director for Lifelong Faith Formation

St. Camillus is a large, vibrant multicultural parish with weekly liturgies in English, Spanish and French. The parish is staffed by the Franciscans of Holy Name Province and has a strong commitment to social justice. The parish, located in Silver Spring, Maryland, is seeking a fulltime Director for Life Long Faith Formation, as a result of the new strategic plan for its future.

The position involves development of a program that includes creative multigenerational experiences. Among the gifts an applicant will need are creative design, large event planning, a passion for faith formation, a collaborative style of team management, a working knowledge of new styles of learning and technology, good communication skills, an ability to recruit and train volunteers, and at least two years experience as a leader in the field.

Applicants should have a love for the Catholic faith, an enthusiasm for working in a diverse environment, and the ability to work collaboratively with catechists, youth ministers, RCIA and RCIY teams, school personnel, pastoral staff and the Archdiocese of Washington.

An MA in theology, religious education or related fields is required and the ability to speak Spanish and / or French, in addition to English, would be advantageous.

Position open for Liturgy Coordinator at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Bowie, MD

Director of Campus Ministry, Medical Center

The Director of the Medical Center Campus Ministry is a full-time position. The position reports directly to the Executive Director of Campus Ministry of Georgetown University. The primary responsibility of the Director is to provide for the spiritual needs of the Medical Center campus which includes the students, the faculty and the staff of the Medical Center, including the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing and Health Studies, and the Biomedical Graduate Research Organization. In this role, the Director provides sacramental ministry, spiritual direction, retreats, and pastoral presence. The Director also coordinates with the Main Campus chaplaincies at Georgetown to provide for the diverse spiritual needs of the campus population. This position serves on the Management Team and Interfaith Council of Campus Ministry and works with International Programs of the Medical Center to promote educational experiences for students in countries around the world.

Catholic Chaplaincy Director

The Catholic Chaplaincy Director attends primarily to the spiritual and pastoral needs of the Catholic community at Georgetown through spiritual direction, pastoral counseling, retreats, worship services, and other events as needed. The Director acts as a primary resource for the Roman Catholic community on campus for liturgy, tradition, and communion/social activities. This position is a supervisory position, and also serves on the Interfaith Council. The Director supervises a staff that includes a Senior Chaplain, a Director of Liturgy and Music and a Program Coordinator. The Director is responsible for overseeing the Catholic retreat programs, personally directing some retreats and finding directors for others. This oversight includes advertising, recruiting, communication and collaboration with Jesuit or lay chaplains, and logistical details. There are currently nine to twelve retreats which include Spiritual Refreshment, Agape, Weekend and Five-Day Ignatian Retreats, Senior Retreat, and the Prayer in Daily Life. As the Catholic Chaplaincy Director is also a member of the Campus Ministry department, he or she must be comfortable in an interfaith environment, participating in interfaith liturgies and collaborating with ministers of other faith traditions represented in the university community.
